Astera Mortezai has been selected as the winner of the Galatea Art Prize 2022. Her entry for this exhibition consists of three different artworks. One of the artworks is an interactive artwork created in consultation with the public. Each visitor can have a passport made describing the borders a person passes in his or her life. It provides the visitor with a nice little book, but also insights into their own lives. Another artwork confronts the visitor with a hologram of a dominant man, who, like a kind of ringmaster in a circus, instructs the visitor to tell something about the reason for his or her presence in the Netherlands. In this way, refugees are also constantly confronted by people asking what they have come here to do.
